General

Banana empowers creators with the tools and partners they need to design and sell their own unique fashion products via preorder campaigns. This eliminates the need for hefty investments in inventory, website development, warehousing, and all other start-up costs typically associated with launching a fashion brand. As a result, you’ll get the chance to discover one-of-a-kind fashion pieces from your favourite creators from all around the world.

This way we only produce designs with proven demand, thus avoiding the bulk of fashion waste created from traditional manufacturing methods. For more information on Overproduction, click here.

"MOQ" stands for "Minimum Order Quantity". This is determined by a number of factors, but ultimately a number agreed between the creator and producer. Once this MOQ is reached on a campaign, the design qualifies to go into production! Click here to read more on our blog.

This is really up to the creators. We offer our creators the freedom to choose which producers to partner with depending on their individual design needs. You will be able to see where a product is made at the bottom of each product page. For more information on our producer partners, click here.

When a campaign is successful, Banana takes a 10% transaction fee from the creator.

If the campaign does not reach its MOQ, there are no fees.

Yes! It is Banana's mission to offer everyone with a creative drive the opportunities to thrive in fashion. We are currently in beta so we are gradually onboarding new creators – click here to gain access!

Ultimately, it's up to the creator, however, Banana is a community for extraordinary fashion, so it will be down to everyone to spread the word of a beloved campaign for it to succeed, not just one person's responsibility!

We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover cards. Payment is captured at the time of purchase. If the campaign does not meet its MOQ (minimum order quantity) target by the time it expires, a full refund will be issued.

You will get a full refund to your original payment method.

Your card will be charged at the time you place your preorder so that production can begin as soon as possible. If the campaign is unsuccessful, you will get a full refund.

Banana is based in Sydney, Australia and Hong Kong. We have our technology team in Australia, and production team and warehouse in Hong Kong.

A campaign is a product up for preordering. Campaigns need to reach its MOQ for it to be manufactured. Campaigns that don't meet the MOQ before it expires will not be manufactured.

An MOQ is the preorder goal of a campaign, it stands for "Minimum Order Quantity". This can range between 20-99 pieces. This number is set by the item's producer as their optimal minimum quantity that best balances their cost and time. Campaigns that don't meet this MOQ will not be realised.

A creator is the designer behind the campaign who is trying to bring their product to life.

Backers are shoppers who places preorders to support a creator's unique design. When a campaign is successful, backers will receive their order in the post straight from the producers.

A producer is the manufacturer who the creator has partnered up with to bring their product to life should it meet its MOQ.

Banana strives to reduce fashion waste by democratising fashion through the preorder model so that only favourite pieces are made; made to be loved and cherished. By adhering to the producer's MOQ, we are in position to keep these pieces at the most cost-effective price for our backers.

Each creator's brand page will have their own contact details ie. social media and/or email.

While a campaign is still live you can edit or cancel your preorder. Please email us 48 hours before the end of the campaign at hello@banana.xyz and we will get this sorted ASAP.

There could be infinite number of campaigns live on Banana at any given moment. Each campaign is independently created and crafted by the creators, who have complete creative control and responsibility over their brands and products. They spend weeks building their brand, sampling closely with their chosen producers, shooting content for their garments, and when they're ready, launch their creation as a campaign to the community.

Every campaign has its MOQ to meet in order to go into production. If people like the item, they can place a pre-order. Once the MOQ is met, the item will be made into reality and sent out to the backers. Backers are only charged when their pre-order goes into production. Campaigns that don't meet the MOQ before the deadline will expire, and noone will be charged or commissioned.

Many backers may be friends and family of the creator, many may be fans of the creator's existing work, and many may just be excited or inspired by the item enough to want to make it their own! Afterall, our pre-order model rivals limited edition collections - and never mass produced.

Backing a campaign is more than shopping. It is supporting a creator's dream to create something that they want to see exist in the world.
