E-Commerce Operations Manager

Type:
Full Time

Day-in-a-Life of our E-Commerce Operations Manager

As our first E-Commerce Operations Manager, you will be in charge of bringing the Banana experience to life for our customers. You will be at the front line of service for customers, managing their enquiries and gathering feedback, all of which is crucial to maintaining our culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Additionally, you will direct our Shopify operations and play a pivotal role in shaping how customers, creators and producers experience Banana. If you have experience in logistics, customer success and operations - and you always dreamed of working in fashion - this is the role for you!

The role is responsible for the following areas:

  • Customer Happiness: creating a world-class customer experience by managing inquiries, feedback, and resolutions.
  • Shopify Operations: overseeing and managing the store functionalities, troubleshooting and reporting.
  • Purchase & Production Management: administering the post-purchase orders and guaranteeing smooth production.
  • Logistics Excellence: managing the shipping and returns processes to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Payment Administration: supervising and executing payment distributions to creators and producers.

You have:

  • Confident abilities in Excel, Notion, Shopify, Zendesk, and Airwallex.
  • A knack for managing timelines and aligning operations with strategic goals.
  • A desire to work in a creative, growing, and exciting environment that is yours for the shaping!

It would be great, but absolutely not necessary, if you also had:

  • Previous experience in logistics, shipping or customer service.
  • Experience, knowledge and/or passion for the fashion industry.
  • Background in working in startups or similar environments.

You are:

  • Super organised: you are able to take abstract ideas and turn them into easily-understandable documents and materials.
  • Calm in the storm: we’re a high-energy team often operating on last-minute opportunities.
  • Knowing you’ve got things covered will help things go smoothly.
  • Adaptable: things move fast at Banana, so it’s important that we work with drive but knowing that things could change within a few days.
  • A startupper at heart: eager to get your hands dirty and participate as well as direct end-to-end processes. This is a hands-on role.

The starting salary for this role is AU$70,000 to $90,000

We are excited to build a team of self-starters who believe in the mission of Banana and want to grow as we grow. To that end, this role includes a meaningful equity stake in the company as part of the founding team.

As a founding team member at Banana, there is a lot of room for growth in this role!

  • Building your own team - the team will get bigger, and you will be able to mould and shape the makeup of the team, hire for your own team, nurture our culture and climb the ladder as we grow!
  • Learning to be a Startup Founder - this role will allow you access to a 360-view of how a startup operates and grows in real time. If you ever wanted to start your own thing, this is a great opportunity to learn how!
  • Breaking into the Fashion industry - notoriously an industry with lots of barriers of entry, we want to make sure that everyone has access to fashion as their dream career. Joining Banana will expose you to the industry, its key players and operations from day one!

Maybe this role is not for you if:

  • You are not comfortable starting a task with incomplete information.
You need a lot of direction on a daily basis.
  • You are looking to work in a big team with a lot of structure - we like to keep things casual and autonomous at Banana.

If any of this excites you, you can put your hand in the link below! Even if you don’t feel you fulfil every requirement, we want to hear from you.
